Milkweed 4 Monarch Donation Page Sign.png

Monarch butterflies are some of the most famous butterflies and they can catch your eye across a meadow with their bright orange and black wings. Unfortunately Monarch populations are in decline. Reports show that 2025 had the fifth lowest population in their Mexican wintering grounds.

Monarch caterpillars feed exclusively on the leaves of the milkweed plant. By ingesting this plant, they collect a chemical in their body that makes them poisonous to most animals. That makes the milkweed plant a critical part to ensure that Monarchs have the best chance at surviving and making the long journey across the United States and to the Mexican mountains where they spend the winter.

You can help provide food and habitat for these magnificent Monarchs by donating today as we will be planting 1000 milkweed plants in a specially selected area of our Oldmans Creek Preserve. With every donation you can ensure that there will be a place for these wonderful creatures to live and grow.
