About the Event
Join us at Laurel Lake Preserve for an inaugural Nature Walk with Field Guide Lloyd Shaw to learn about the flora and fauna that distinguish our recently acquired lakefront sanctuary on Big Timber Creek. With Fall Migration well under way, we hope to spot a variety of songbirds in the towering canopy, and hear about the other wildlife who inhabit the enchanting, 3.5-acre woodland. Lloyd will also fill you in on the stewardship efforts he'll be leading this winter, and lend insights into Poet Walt Whitman's affinity for the area and the summers he famously spent birding and "loafing" in the woods.
